Why is America viewed as the biggest threat to world peace?

Summary: Our nation as a whole has always centered it's exceptional history on things that leave our citizens with pride and a patriarchal essence. Roughly 405,000 people have been killed as a result of the violence and infrastructure damage of the U.S.-led War in Iraq. The U.S. leads the world in military spending, with more than $7.6 trillion spent on the military and homeland security since 9/11. The rise of ISIS in Iraq has been traced to the US war in the country. In an article on ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the New York Times explained, “At every turn, Mr. Baghdadi’s rise has been shaped by the United States’ involvement in Iraq – most of the political changes that fueled his fight, or led to his promotion, were born directly from some American action.” Almost every current issue within and out of our nation has rooted back to the United States in some way. war crimes and military industrial complex are consistently propped up by the concept of U.S. exceptionalism. These bullets and beliefs make the U.S. the biggest threat to world peace.

  1. BIG TOPIC,in fact even Trump would call it HUGE! Seriously, keep in mind what the visual says - FACT = much of the world views us as a threat to peace even though we're 35-85% benevolent ( McD's unscientific/very broad estimate).

  2. Although what the US does in other nations can lead to more destruction and chaos, we are the only country in the world that has the power to control other countries' radicals. Also, since other countries are having detrimental effects on them through ISIS and other terrorist groups, the US cannot leave the citizens without protection. We must find an effective solution to solve the problems in other countries.

  3. Like Obama mentioned in the article, the U.S. looks back on its past in order to "face our imperfections" and change them for the better. It is U.S. exceptionalism that separates itself as the greatest threat to world peace. Although the U.S. Senate's torture report proved the instability of our national security, they all defended their actions, as Obama concludes "no nation is perfect".

  4. America is the biggest threat to peace in other countries' views because "almost every current issue within and out of our nation has rooted back to the United States in some way". Washington’s torture, war crimes and military industrial complex are consistently propped up by the concept of U.S. exceptionalism which makes the U.S the most dangerous towards peace.

  5. America is seen as a big threat to peace in other countries because they spend the most amount of money on military spending, and the war that they are involved in now, in Iraq, is killing a lot of people. Within all of this disorder, America is still trying to advance and fix their problems which threatens many other countries. This idea of U.S exceptionalism is what classifies America as the greatest threat to world peace.

  6. America seems as a threat because they put it out there spending tons of money for the military. It causes other nations to be cautious. U.S exceptionalism could be the reason for holding the country back on world peace. Also the U.S cant leave their people without any protection. There is going to have to be some type of settlement to happen between nations.

  7. The United States is perceived as a threat to others because it "leads the world in military spending." Perhaps if we didn't get involved in the Middle East, ISIS wouldn't have been formed because it "has been traced to the US war in the country." I think the U.S. should take on the policy of isolationism again. However, we are seen as the leader of the world, so we have to be able to defend our country and other countries as well.

  8. The United States is the biggest threat to world peace because we do tend to get involved in a lot of foreign affairs. I feel that those who are really threatened by the US are those who are affected by the American military intervention. But its fair to say that the US comes off as a threat because it is the world’s only superpower, dominating the world’s economic and political systems.

  9. America is viewed as the biggest threat to world peace because we our the biggest power in the world. We have gained this throne by shutting down other nations in war. By doing this we have gained a reputation of being very power ambitious and the strongest country. Now that we are the strongest country, a lot of other nations fear because they know we have the power and will to literally wipe out their main cities.

  10. The United States is seen as the biggest threat to world peace because they spend so much money on the military. It makes us a strong country, but it is also killing so many people in this country. The US needs to support people with protection, so they need to figure out a solution that can protect the people and the country itself.

  11. The united states is seen as the biggest threat to world peace because it has so much power. The united states has the strongest military in the world and this gives us power to cause destruction at will. The U.S exceptionalism is also seen to be causing a threat to other countries. we hold the right to punish for war crimes which scares other countries and prevents them from attempting anything that would be too desasterous.

  13. The United States is not the biggest "threat to world peace". It may have the most power, but our power is a good thing. The U.S. goes after ISIS because ISIS hates the entire Western World. On another note, the secretaries of defense and state have used their authorities to assist the Lebanese army, the Pakistani special forces, and the navies and maritime security forces of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The U.S. provides countries that have urgent security needs with weapons and military training.

  14. Have a problem with the miltary and the US being a "threat" to all countries dont suppport military personel? Why be in the United States? People come to America from other countries who think the US is the Biggest threat to world peace why would you move then? The United States is home of the brave land of the free. After the Berlin wall got taken down guess who kept the peace the USA!!!!

  15. The united states is a threat to other countries because we are so militarily heavy and invoke ourselves in so many affairs. If we toned it down and were not so heavy in affairs of other countries than those other countries could achieve various levels of peace that we obstruct.

  16. the united states is such a big threat to the rest of the world because of our outstanding military. We have the #1 military in the world so other countries should be scared of us because they know we could mess them up.

  17. American is viewed as the biggest threat to world peace because we insist on being the worlds police officers. We involve our selfs with so called problems that do not primarily involve us however we predict the future outcome somehow envolving the nations, also having the worlds larges military doesn't always work well with smaller less powerful countries. i wouldn't say other countries are scared of us because of our military power however they do fear the influences/beliefs we pursue with such powerful means of persuasion

  18. The United States is "Viewed" as the biggest threat to world peace because the United States always has the urge to intervene in any type of problem other countries are dealing with. The U.S. feels that they have to regulate other countries that get out of hand or get overtaken by terrorists. Even though the U.S. always gets involved in situations that don't involve them they should be considered the police men for the world.
