Hotel in Mali attacked by several gunmen
http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/21/africa/mali-hotel-attack/Two or Three gunmen fired upon anything that moved in the unexpecting hotel in Mali. The Attackers did not say a word to anyone as they opened fire in the hotel. By the time Malian U.N. forces arrived the hotel was layered with bullets, and bodies spread across the floors of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako. The reports coming in have said at least 22 people were killed. The hotel had been hosting delegations there attending peace talks. Bamako is a main center for international guests being 15 minutes away from the airport. ISIS has claimed the responsibility of the attack alongside Al Queda. The reason the hotel was attacked was most likely because of the diplomats meetings there. This tragedy was not a loss for one lone nation. The victims were from around the world of all nationalities.
What do you think the correct response to this attack should be, along with the recent attacks in Paris?
What can we do in the future to prevent the increase in prevalence of these attacks?
I think that the response should be to gather as much information as possible about the possible locations of ISIS and Al Qaeda outposts and eliminate them with force. Along with finding the high ranking officials of those terrorist organizations and eliminating them as a security threat to the world. I believe in order to prevent these attacks from happening, we should not have meddled in the affairs of the middle east, we should let them fight their own battles, instead of involving the United States.
ReplyDeleteI think that the correct response would be to send treats to ISIS and Al Queda. We should threaten to nuke both of their locations and send more troops in. We are not responsible for the recent attacks in paris, but this shows how easily they can come in and do the same thing to us. I believe that closing all of the borders as well would help protect us. We should not let anybody in untill all of this terrosist activity dies down. Also, we need to not be involved with what is happening in the middle east. Let them fight their own wars with themselves, and we need to stop getting in the way and upsetting them. We are just making ourselves a target.
ReplyDeleteI think the best thing to do to fight off the terrorist groups is to force them into a tight spot by having many nations come together to fight against them. We should teach people the ways of peace. The only reason why people are joining terrorist groups and killing people is because of their beliefs. They tend to sway people. We have to teach them not to.
ReplyDeleteAfter the attack in Paris, Mali needs to increase security to prevent less people from coming in and out of the country. Every nearby country should also be prepared for possible terrorist attacks as a precaution. Borders and airports should be more strict in who they're letting in the country.
ReplyDeleteSecurity must be increased since ISIS is getting more attention due to the Paris Attacks and now Mail is under fire. Having security more tight will decrease chances of this happening.
ReplyDeleteI think the best response to this attack is to have more boots on the ground. This would increase intelligence, and we could locate terrorists faster and in a more organized manner. Also, we have to stay out of any political involvement with terrorists countries and their targets, in order to not make ourselves a target as well.
ReplyDeleteOur best bet right now it to try to locate ISIS & Al Queda and attack them and eliminate their leaders. To prevent these attacks from happening in the future we need to improve our national security and have background checks for all refugees. I believe that getting involved with the middle east's affairs was a big problem for the United States.
