"State Department issues worldwide travel alert"
The United States' State Department has issued a worldwide travel alert. They said that terrorist groups such as ISIS, al-Qaeda, and Boko Haram continue to plan attacks in many areas throughout the U.S. and the world. After the Paris Massacres it is important to ensure Americans the greatest safety possible especially when traveling.
Question: Do you trust the government's intell to keep you safe? What are your thoughts on this topic?

I trust the government to keep us safe, for the most part. There are instances where even the government cannot protect against terrorist actions due to the constant threat and number of places that terrorists are planning to attack. I believe that certain safety measures should be made to ensure that we can fly without fear of any terrorist action. Perhaps using more background checks on people who are flying could help. It might invade our privacy somewhat, but I believe there needs to be some invasion of privacy in order to ensure our safety when traveling.
ReplyDeleteI do trust our government intel to keep us safe because in the event of an terrorist attack, we don't want to be caught off guard. I believe that ISIS and other terrorist groups are using these worldwide attacks to scare us into submission. I believe that we as the oppressed people should not give into terrorist threats, and we should in fact go on the offensive instead.
ReplyDeleteYes I trust the governments intell to keep us safe from terrorist groups. Even if it is a false alarm, it is still better than not knowing. At times like this we must be very cautious and listen to all the alerts they send out to us. I believe that right now the government should put a lot more security at every big city and every big event. They will most likely do it at random times so it is important to keep every big thing safe.
ReplyDeleteI almost entirely trust the government to keep us safe but bribery or corruption might come in to play when terrorists threaten to harm the united states. We need stay alert and take caution whenever a threat is released.
ReplyDeleteI trust the government to keep the US safe even though we have rules of engagement to ISIS in direct ways which will target us if ISIS isn't contained. I don't think Obama will send troops to Iraq to be involved in ground warfare, it is much too dangerous and if we do attack it will be with bombings and not ground warfare.
ReplyDeleteI do trust the government's intell to keep me safe but I think that we still need to be caution if anything happens just like 9/11. Terrorist groups usually leave a threat and that it should be handled with precaution. After 9/11 happened, I think that the US are more cautions about any attacks and that is a good thing to keep the American citizen safe.
ReplyDeleteHaving the government to protect us I do trust, however they can't always protect their people. Their has to be more background checks and we have to pay attention to the media in order to stay safe as citizens.
ReplyDeleteThe government is trustworthy because it's their duty to keep us safe. However, there are always corrupt people who could be working for terrorist groups. We need more background checks on government officials.
ReplyDeleteI do trust the government to keep us safe because that is their job. We still need to be very alert of thisng especially in situations like airports because of things that have happened in the past, but our security is very good. We should be doing more background checks on people coming into the United States just to be safe, but i think the government is doing a good job so far.
ReplyDeleteI trust the government to keep us safe. With terrorists attacks, we need to be aware about threats that terrorist groups make to us, so we can be prepared. I believe it is important for the government to have tight security at all times, in events big or small.
ReplyDeleteI think it is wise of the United States government to issue a worldwide travel alert if its intelligence data indicates that threats to American citizens are a real possibility. I would rather know to be extra cautious at sporting events, theaters, open markets, and on an airplane, than to not be told of increased risks. I do trust the U.S. government’s ability to monitor terrorist threats, and it is the job of the Dept. of Homeland Security to keep our citizens safe. With the recent attacks on Paris, I suspect our government officials will be even more vigilant. As such, when a worldwide safety alert is issued after the Paris attacks, we should be both thankful and pay close attention.
ReplyDeleteI do trust the government to keep us safe in the United States. However it's a difficult thing to do and that is why I would give up some freedom in return for safety when it comes to background checks when flying
